|the_moriarty||03:48 pm - Cairo Jim Cover Scans|
Hello, friends of Jim!
Today whilst I was "studying" for my exams I decided to scan in some classic Jim covers because I wanted to have the pictures on my computer. If anyone else would like them, here are links to the scans (resized to around 460x750 pixels)!
Cairo Jim and the Alabastron of Forgotten Gods
Cairo Jim and the Lagoon of Tidal Magnificence
After the Puce Empress
These are the only ones I own with the old covers but when I have less "studying" to do I might head down to the fine old local library and scan some more. Some real great work on these covers!
And here is another Jim treat for you, from the literal pages of history:
Scans of some of the illustrations from the original Cairo Jim on the Trail to Chacha Muchos (sorry about the blurriness on the edges of these - I didn't want to bend my book too much and the scanner didn't like the spine):
(hey, no camels?)
In other news, who has read Astragals? What did you think?
Current Mood: chipper
Oooh, I think my CJ covers are older than yours. I should scan them for you! Much better than those computer generated ones. I swear if I didn't know how good they were already, I wouldn't buy the books now.
Astragals... Brilliant! Only needs the one word to describe it!
That's cool, I'd like to see them! I do have one older cover - the one for the illustrated ChaCha Muchos, but otherwise I've got these three and then a fair few computer-generated ones. Definitely a mismatched collection! I'm going to see these holidays if I can track down the older editions of the books I don't have at secondhand bookshops - I'd like to have the full series.
Brilliant.... but also sad! But definitely enjoyable. I really liked the irony of Bone's demise, yarrrrr!
The trouble is, if you want the whole set to match you have to have all the new covers...
Haha, I think I'd be happy with a set that's a bit all over the place - would just like to get as many with the older artwork as possible!
I was lucky to get a signed copy of Quetzal Queen on eBay :D
