08:13 pm - A question regarding "Cairo Jim and the Quest for the Quetzal Queen"
If Jim is indeed going to live for a very long time after drinking the water in the book, how will he feel when he outlives Jocelyn? Wouldn't that be horrible to live on and watch everyone you hold dear pass away. At least Doris and Brenda were in the water too.

Longevity of Jocelyn Osgood, V.O.S

Ah, but Joss isn't going to age very much at all. It's to do with altitude, you see. While writing these stories, I made a startling discovery (amongst many startling discoveries): because Flight Attendants travel between so many different time zones so frequently, and in such a constantly rarefied atmosphere, something remarkable happens to them: their ageing metabolism slows down far more greatly than human beings who don't have the pleasure of such high-velocity employment. Consequently, Joss is going to age at approximately the same rate as Cairo Jim, Doris and Brenda the Wonder Camel.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio...

Well that is very, very, good to know. If I ever consider a change of career I now know which one to apply myself to :)

ever seen "Doctor Who"?
There was an episode - School Reunion (i think) - that dealt with a similar issue.
The Doctor says "I can spend the rest of my life with you, but you can't spend the rest of your life with me..."
